Plastic Planet
The best way to deal with the plastic problem on our planet in our own homes is to recognize our contribution to the problem and begin to eliminate single use plastic from our everyday lives. I am not claiming this to be an easy task, actually it can be extremely challenging when we live a fast pass on the go lifestyle and much of our food is packaged in plastic. From veggies and frozen foods to drinks and snacks. Not to mention our toothbrushes, trash bags, diapers and sooooo much more. A transition off our addiction to single use plastic will most likely be a gradual one. Besides being mindful about our purchases and habits here are a couple of additional tricks to aiding you in your transition.
Eco Bricks
Eco Bricks are a simple, low-tech solution to our plastic. Without the need for machines, special skills or capital eco bricks enable us to take personal responsibility for the plastic that we’ve consumed by keeping it out of industrial systems, securing it out of the environment, and putting it to good use in modules and earth constructions. When we save, segregate and pack plastics into bottles, we can make building blocks that can be reused over and over again. Together we can build green spaces that enrich our community and remove plastic from the biosphere. Learn more about Eco Bricks here.
